Collection Review: Maison Martin Margiela

John Galliano has taken on the enormous task of attempting to repair his now infamous name. After being fired from Dior in 2011 for an anti-Semantic rant that was documented on video, he later gained employment with Maison Martin Margiela in 2014. But not all hope was lost for Galliano when the queen of fashion herself, Anna Wintour, wore one of his Margiela gowns later that year.

There’s no dispute that his words have caused irreparable damaged his career, but in my opinion, there is also no disputing the fact that he is a visionary who displays a creativity that few will ever capture. Take a look at a few of my personal favorites from his Spring 2015 Couture collection.

I’m not sure how her top works, but I want it.

Can we just talk about the fact that he threw a pair of denim shorts in with incredibly structured and complex pieces?

The show closer. Always leave them wanting more.
