Seeing double

After a weekend trip to St. Malo and Normandy, I’m finally back in Paris. We visited beautiful monuments and I learned so much about World War II, but I’ll get back to that in a later post. For now let’s get back to Paris Fashion Week. In case you missed it, I’ve been having some pretty awesome luck with getting into fashion shows. Although my primary concern each day was “How the eff am I going to pull this off?”, my secondary was “What the hell am I going to wear?”

IMG_0076Trying to create outfits would actually keep me up at night, but I think I come up with some of my best ideas right before I hit the hay. I’ve always been intrigued by the denim-on-denim look, but never had an appropriate place to try it. After seeing some sick double denim street style outside of the Guy Laroche show, I decided to try it out for myself.

IMG_0082I paired a chambray shirt with boyfriend jeans and an over-sized shaggy cardigan. The weather is finally starting to get warm in Paris, and I cannot tell how you wonderful it felt to walk around without a coat on and to be able to show my ankles. My Nastygal cardigan kept me nice and toasty, but also added a much needed change of texture in this otherwise monotonous look.

IMG_0072I added in a pair of pointy-toed pumps to give the outfit a feminine edge and my Tory Burch cross-body for some color (I know tan isn’t really a color, but I’m only working with like 10% of my wardrobe here). I topped it all of with some pink lipstick and the classic fashion girl RBF.

There are still three days left of Paris Fashion Week, and with my first French exam coming up this Thursday I’m not sure how many more shows I’ll be able to (try to) attend. Right now my tally is at four, so make sure to check back here soon for my collection reviews!
